Before your appointment

A few things that make your visit smoother — and keep billing surprise-free:

• Verify we're in-network. Check with your insurance carrier that Dermatology Specialists of West Georgia is in-network for your plan. Our practice Tax ID is #58-2640985 if they ask.
• Arrive 15 minutes early with a photo ID, your insurance card, a payment method, and a list of your current medications.
• Complete your forms first. Save time in the waiting room by completing your paperwork through the Patient Portal before you arrive. Copays are collected at check-in.
• Card on file. A credit card on file is required to be seen; you'll only be charged what your plan says you owe. Read the full card-on-file policy.
• Uninsured or self-pay? Under the federal No Surprises Act you have the right to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before your visit — just ask when you schedule.
• Cancellations need 24 hours' notice. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a $50 fee ($75 for surgery appointments). Details in our financial policy.
